This book has been published to mark Frau Dr. Mechthild Flury-Lemberg's 80th birthday (last year: 21 Feb 2009) and to acknowledge her huge contribution to textile conservation and the education of textile conservators from all over the world.

The book, which is written in German, includes: a Foreword by Dr Regula Schorta, Director of the Abegg-Stiftung; an edited transcript [entitled: 'Five decades of textile conservation - memories of the beginnings' ] of an interview Dr Ulrich Schiessl conducted with Frau Dr. Mechthild Flury-Lemberg in 2001, with some lovely photographs; and, a reproduction of the beautifully illustrated description of the furnishing and fittings of the Foundation's textile conservation department of 1970; a bibliography of Mechthild's publications; and a one page biography of Mechthild.
