University Teacher in Textile Conservation
Ref: A60016
Salary: £31,798 - £35,788 per annum

The Centre for Textile Conservation and Technical Art History at the University of Glasgow wishes to appoint a University Teacher in Textile Conservation. With a strong commitment to teaching, you will teach the theory and practice of textile conservation, focusing on the practical work undertaken by second year students, but also contributing to other teaching on the programme. You will also be encouraged to develop research interests in the field of textile conservation. You should have substantial experience of textile conservation practice.

The Centre was officially opened by the Princess Royal in February 2011. It offers a two-year MPhil Textile Conservation programme alongside a master’s programme in Technical Art History. There are also links with the MLitt Dress and Textile History. The Centre is based in History of Art, the highest rated history of art department in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, and is launching a new Research Network in Textile Conservation, Dress and Textile History and Technical Art History, funded by the Getty Foundation. This is an exciting time to join our small team.

This is a redesignation of the post formerly advertised as Lecturer in Textile Conservation.
