Publication Milestones
- Book: Dress at the Court of Henry VIII
- Book: x-radiography of organic artefacts
- Scientific Analysis of Ancient & Historic Textiles. Informing Preservation, Display and Interpretation. Post-prints of first AHRC Research Centre international conference, 2004
- Book: Tapestry Conservation: Principles and Practice
- The Future of the Twentieth Century: Collecting, Interpreting and Conserving Modern Materials. Post-prints of the second international conference, 2005
- Textiles and Text: Re-establishing the Links Between Archival and Object-Based Research. Post-prints of the third international conference, 2006
- An average of three articles per year arising from RCTC research being accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, e.g. in ‘Studies in Conservation’ (IIC); ‘The Conservator’ (UKIC); ‘Textile History’ (Pasold Foundation); the ‘Preprints of the Triennial Meeting of ICOM-CC’ (2005) and the ‘Preprints of the Biennial Conferences of IIC meetings (2003 or 2005, depending on the topic selected for the conferences).
Exhibition Milestones
- Travelling exhibition of concealed garments, Hidden House History (in conjunction with Hampshire County Council Museum Service)
- Wrapping the Globe - Exhibition at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter, on the use of British exported wool in colonial-era ‘ethnographic’ collections.

Related Research Milestone
MA/MSc/MPhil/PhD research on topics related to RCTC themes at all three partner institutions. Expect an average of one per year in each of the three partner institutions.
Outreach Milestones
- Web-site for RCTC established, and linked to existing web-sites at the three partner universities
- Increased public awareness of textile conservation, via regular press coverage: a ‘story’ every six months for each of the five years of the grant.
