Communicating with Collections projects

This MA Museums & Galleries unit consisted of a group project which enabled students to develop appropriate professional knowledge and transferable project management skills through creating an activity focusing on communicating using collections. The unit project provided students with the opportunity to work as a member of a group by creating, planning, implementing, and reporting an activity based on communicating collections. This was an opportunity for students to explore issues in a creative, 'hands-on' way. The acitivity could take the form of children's activities, a publication, digital, interaction / access, an exhibition using artefacts created by art students or from an established collection - or any other appropriate project! This experience provided students with a sound understanding of the conceptual and practical issues involved in developing object-based communication essential for their future professional life.
