Grave Matters: A trail of the graveyards of Winchester
Student Group Project 2008
This project examined a ‘collection’ outside the museum – gravestones in the graveyards of Winchester. The group felt that the graveyards of Winchester were an often overlooked part of Winchester’s religious and social history and deserved to be highlighted. In response, the eleven MA Museums & Galleries students co-ordinated a research project into the graveyards resulting in a leaflet to enabled visitors to take a self-guided tour of these significant sites. They also produced a special activity sheet for children, making a potentially challenging topic engaging and interesting.
