Student Group Project 2007

The students in this project group decided to explore the world of smart and techo-textiles and engage students and visitors in thinking about how these new and exciting textiles might change their lives. They organised an exhibition at Winchester School of Art, opened by Professor Martin Simcock (Georgina von Etzdorf http://www.gve.co.uk/index.html). A local police officer came to the opening to discuss the smart textiles in police uniforms and Mary M. Brooks (MA Programme Leader and Director of the TCC/V&A Research project on smart and techo-textiles ) gave a presentation. A touch table of textiles and hands-on activities gave visitors an opportunity to engage with these fascinating textiles themselves.
